TEN Group students join in worldwide Programming Challenge 4 Girls

The message from 50 students from TEN Group academies, following a day of computer coding at the Programming Challenge 4 Girls hosted at City Academy Norwich, was loud and clear: girls can code!

The event on Friday 7th November was organised as part of the international PC4G initiative, which is designed to introduce girls to programming through an activity that does not require previous programming knowledge and which is approachable, fun, challenging and educational.   

Tour of Jack up vessel elevates UTC students’ aspirations

A 75m long, 295 tonne, self-propelled jack up vessel is no ordinary classroom, but that is where students at University Technical College Norfolk have been learning about careers in offshore energy engineering this week.

40 Year 10 and Year 12 students studying at the Old Hall Road specialist engineering school, were invited on board the Seajacks Leviathan vessel for a unique opportunity to learn about offshore wind-farm installation and tour the vessel’s state-of-the-art facilities.

CAN Student Awarded for Outstanding Achievement

City Academy Norwich student Genevieve Richardson has been presented with an Outstanding Achievement Award for her NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Practical Animal Care at Easton and Otley College.  She studied the course last year as part of City Academy Norwich's curriculum . Genevieve was awarded her prize by the guest of honour, Ben Potterton, Horticulturist, Conservation Consultant and Easton College Alumni at a ceremony at the College on Thursday 16 October.

Landmark day as University Technical College Norfolk opens

University Technical College Norfolk opened for teaching this week as its very first cohort of 219 students started in their new school, where they will study a dynamic blend of academic and technical learning focussed on skills for the advanced engineering and energy sectors.

Three students from Fakenham Academy Norfolk have been accepted into Cambridge University after achieving top A-Level results. Ellen Berry, Jordan Osborn and Henry Tidd represent an extremely impressive haul of overall A-Level results this year from the academy.

GCSE results: Big day for 1,300 students across the TEN Group

The hard work of almost 1,300 students and their teachers across the TEN Group was rewarded today as students from each academy and college were handed their GCSE results.

Despite national predictions of greater volatility in results this year following changes to the exams system, the results from the academies in the TEN Group showed a general picture of stability with continued improvement in many areas.

TEN Group students celebrate A Level results

Students from across the TEN Group have been celebrating after collecting their A Level results which have highlighted excellent progression and a number of outstanding individual achievements.

The A Level results, which were released on Thursday 14th August, saw City College Norwich’s Sixth Form Centre students achieve an overall A Level pass rate of 97 per cent, with 100 per cent pass rates in 15 different subject areas.

Lady Mayor joins celebration of Attleborough students’ enterprise talents

Over 400 of Attleborough Academy Norfolk’s year 7, 8 and 9 students had their achievements during Enterprise Challenge Week celebrated at a special event on Friday 27th June. The event saw Lady Mayor Karen Pettitt present awards to some of the highest achieving teams and individuals from week long challenges.
