The founding Group CEO is Dick Palmer.
Moving directly from his highly successful tenure as Principal of City College Norwich, Dick brings over twenty years’ experience of achieving excellence in the education sector to the senior leadership team of TEN.
But more than that, he brings a deep pride in everything the College has achieved:
I’ve been here 10 years now and although I know I’ll always be a newcomer, I feel like a Norfolk man now. I love it here – the people and the place – and I’m passionate about supporting it. The College would always have been a substantive part of the community here, but I’ve always wanted it to be fully integrated wherever possible which I think we have done a lot to achieve.
Dick has been bringing together the elements that have become TEN for almost as long as he has been involved at the College. Taking every opportunity offered by government and policy changes, he has been an integral part of the team that has led the development of the TEN proposal. Now leading it into its launch phase, Dick sees even more growth on the horizon:
We have created a highly aspirational environment for ourselves and, having come a long way down the road already, I still feel like I am on the cusp of a huge opportunity. We have created the window to do something really special in Norfolk.
Amongst other accolades, Dick has been appointed by the Association of Colleges (AoC) as one of their National Skills Champions and was awarded Principal of the Year (2010) in recognition of his services to students, by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS).
